Jim Berman - Vice President, Employee Benefits
Jim Berman returned to GCG in August 2009 after a five year run at United Healthcare. Jim originally joined GCG in 1989 with the responsibility of building GCG's Employee Benefit Division in Illinois. After 13 years of leading GCG to tremendous growth in the Employee Befits area Jim decided to try his skills on the Carrier side of the business in 2003.
In 2003 Jim joined United Healthcare as Vice President of sales for Colorado and New Mexico. His responsibilities included developing and managing a large sales and support team, develop marketing strategies for new products and services, and drive growth in membership and profitability. In 2006 Jim was promoted to a Regional and National role in Large Accounts with responsibilities of creating and launching new products around consumer driven strategies.
Jim's current responsibilities include leading GCG Denver's Employee Benefit Division. This includes developing sales staff, support services, and driving growth iniatives for the firm. Other duties include developing vendor relationships, creating sales strategies, and being responsible for driving growth in attracting new customers.
Jim graduated from University of Denver in 1985 with a BA degree in communications.
Jim lives in South Denver with his wife and three kids. Jim enjoys playing and coaching hockey for Littleton Hockey Association. Other interests include golf and skiing when time permits.
