Timothy E. O'Donnell - Associate
With over twenty years in the financial services industry Tim is passionate about bringing his knowledge and experience to serve his clients. The focus of Tim’s practice is developing and implementing innovative financial strategies for businesses and individuals.
Tim specializes in working with small to medium-sized businesses in the selection and implementation of various programs including Succession Strategies, Business Continuation, Pension, Medical, Disability and Non-Qualified retirement strategies. Additionally, Tim develops strategies with business owners to implement deferred compensation programs, executive compensation plans and executive bonus programs.
Tim works closely with individuals and families to create and implement customized financial strategies to protect and grow their financial futures. Tim’s investment advisory philosophy revolves around strategies to maximize growth of assets while minimizing risks and the impact of taxes. Tim focuses on his clients’ short and long term goals, whether they be a new home, new car, debt reduction, college savings, retirement strategies, risk protection or estate planning. He focuses on recommendations that match his clients’ objectives. Once implemented, Tim believes reviewing and adjusting to the changing needs of his clients is key to protecting their financial future.
Tim spent over twenty years on the floor of the Chicago Board Options Exchange as a floor broker, floor manager and trader where he honed his skills as a risk manager. Through this experience he brings a unique perspective to the needs of his clients helping them see and manage risks they may not have been aware of.
After serving in the United States Navy Tim attended Northeastern Illinois University. His experience in the Navy corresponds with the GCG Financial, Inc. tradition of “doing what is right” and providing “service that excels”. His passion is to make a difference in his clients’ lives and build long-term relationships.
Tim lives in Barrington, Illinois and values his time spent with his wife Sarah and their four children Joey, Tommy, Mickey and Maggie. Tim is active in his community, serving on the Board of Barrington Youth Football and is active in St. Anne’s Catholic Church as a catechist.
